Favored among both beginner and seasoned beekeepers due to their calm and gentle nature, Italian honey bees were first imported into the States in 1860 and quickly became the most popular bee in the U.S. Italians are known for their prolific brood rearing and excellent honey production. These bees do best in warm climates with mild winters, like Florida. They start raising brood early in the spring and continue rearing young late into the fall. This results in booming productive colonies that tend to maintain a large population throughout the year.

About Our Nucs
Our Nucleus colonies, or "Nucs", consist of a marked laying queen, about 3 frames of brood, and 2 outer frames with a mix of food stores and brood. Our nucs are full of bees and are ready to be transfered into a full size hive as soon as possible. Our nucleus colonies come in corrugated plastic nuc boxes and include a transport net to contain any bees that may try to escape.
How do I Buy?
You can purchase your bees online on our website for for pickup in Brooksville, Florida. Because we are only open by appointment, pickup address will be provided after you place your order.
Please note: The actual nuc box used may vary. Frames may be made of wood, plastic, or a mixture of both. Frames may show signs of age but will be in serviceable condition. Queen marking color may also vary slightly.

All honey bee nuc sales are final. Once honey bees are picked up they are no longer in our control and we are not responsible for the survival of the colony.
All nucs will be inspected by our beekeepers at the time of preparation for delivery. Nucs will be healthy, free of disease, and queenright at the time of pickup.
We do not offer refunds or replacement of nucs once they have been delivered.
